necessary for safety and equality.

BY LONESOME PINE RACEWAY'S INSURANCE CARRIERS. ALL PARTICIPANTS
UNDER THE AGE OF 18 WILL ALSO NEED THE SIGNATURE OF A PARENT/GUARDIAN.
THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS.
Lonesome Pine Raceway, further referred to as LPR, will
follow all rules put forth in the 2008 rulebook. LPR makes
and enforces the rules, and may from time to time change,
modify, add or delete any part or all of, any rule, at any
time, for any reason that is deemed necessary. The rules
may be changed without notice, however LPR will endeavor
to notify all affected racers in a timely manner. LPR will
not arbitrarily change any rule without good reason and
after deliberation. The rules are developed to promote safe,
competitive racing, and should be interpreted in that light.
LPR shall reserve the right to refuse racing privileges
and/or pit access to anyone at any time. LPR shall have
the authority to appoint track officials as it sees fit.
Any person or group of persons that verbally or physically
menace LPR or its officials may be PERMANENTLY BARRED from
any event and will otherwise be dealt with in the harshest
manner.
All entrants MUST attend all drivers meetings and make
themselves aware of the racing circumstances, as to not
hinder the flow of the racing program. NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES,
DRUGS, or other ILLEGAL SUBSTANCES shall be allowed on the
premises. Any driver or rider that is impaired shall not
be allowed to compete and no fees will be returned. Each
driver assumes the complete responsibility for their pit
crew or the people associated with their vehicle. Any rules
infraction committed by a crew member shall reflect directly
upon the driver. The driver will be required to rectify
the problem, or be subsequently penalized according to the
rules stated herein. No glass containers will be allowed
in the staging or racing area and it is suggested that you
and your crew do not use any glass. The tire or foot you
save may be yours.
Specific Rules and Regulations
DIRT drags, unlike asphalt drags, are designed to be ran
on uneven sand or dirt tracks. In building, preparing, or
modifying your vehicle for dirt drag racing, a competitor
should keep in mind that LPR will try to maintain a suitable
racing surface. However, there may be holes at the starting
line or in the track surface, ridges down the track, uneven
surfaces and rocks or other debris on the track. These obstacles
are not intended to make the race any more difficult, but
are part of the sport. LPR will endeavor to remove all the
problems before the race. It is up to the individual to
determine if the conditions are unsafe for their vehicle.
It is the option of the racer to race or not. If the track
is deemed suitable and the racer chooses not to race he/she
will loose that race, but will not be disqualified from
further competition.
LPR has developed these regulations to keep competition
fair and help maintain organization and safety of each event.
Some rules may be waived or altered to suit an individual
track as long as safety is NOT compromised.
Age
Competitors must be a minimum of 16 years of age (except
Junior and PeeWee Events) and have proper identification.
14 and 15 year olds may be given special consideration in
running in an adult level competition after signing additional
waivers. All competitors must present proof of age upon
request of an LPR official. Failure to do so may result
in disqualification.
Safety
Trackside Manner
Return lane and pit area SPEED LIMITS ARE 5 MPH & ENFORCED.
All wheels must remain on ground at all times. NO WHEELIES.
Any race vehicle being run in the pits, staging area
(or any where on the facility) must have a responsible person
capable of handling the vehicle seated in the drivers position.
All batteries must be securely mounted. Any new vehicle
must be inspected before allowed to run. It is not the responsibility
of the race or track officials to insure that the entrant
has all the required equipment.
Clothing
All competitors must wear the following at a minimum: long
pants, socks, shoes, and shirts with sleeves that extend
past the elbow.
Helmets / Eye Protection
All competitors are required to wear DOT or Snell approved
safety helmets. Eye protection in the form of safety glasses,
goggles, or face shield is also required.
Kill Switch
All ATVs faster than 5.50 seconds must be equipped with
a working tether kill switch.
Competition Numbers
LPR registration personnel will assign all competition numbers.
LPR will provide all participants with HIGH CONTRAST, LEGIBLE
number for those without permanent numbers. If two (2) or
more permanent numbers compete in the same class the second
number to register may be altered. It is the responsibility
of the competitor to properly display the number in such
a way that it is visible on the front of the vehicle. Participants
will keep this competition number throughout the remainder
of the season. It is the responsibility of the competitor
to properly display their assigned number. Failure may result
in disqualification.
Class Information
Quick 8 ATV
This class is a unlimited class. This is the fastest 8 (or
16 depending on the event size) ATV’s as established
during time trials (2nd time trial is the quick 8 qualifying
run). The dial-in is NOT provided by the individual racer
it is established by their “qualifying” pass
during time trials.
Junior
This class is eligible for all competitors age 11-15. Competitors
may run any vehicle 70cc-150cc. Automotive engine powered
vehicles are not allowed. Competitors will compete with
a handicap style start on a full tree. ALL JUNIORS MUST
HAVE KILL SWITCH
PeeWee
This class is eligible for all competitors ages 6-10. Competitors
may run any 50cc-65 cc ATV. Automotive engine powered vehicles
are not allowed. Competitors will compete with a handicap
style start on a full tree. ALL PEEWEES MUST HAVE KILL SWITCH
Practice / Time Runs
This section is meant as a guideline and may be altered
as deemed necessary by LPR.
Every participant will be given a minimum of two (2) practice/time
runs during time trial sessions. These runs may be made
at anytime during appropriate time trial sessions. A practice/time
run is considered complete once the vehicle is staged at
the starting line.
Dial-In Times
All classes (except Heads Up Classes) require competitors
to enter dial-in times for their vehicle to compete. All
dial-in times must be reported to the designated LPR officials.
The dial-in that is reported before competition begins will
determine vehicle class. Dial-ins must be given to the 1/100th
of a second (i.e. 4.25, not 4.2 or 4.255).
Dial-In Changes
Dial-in time changes can be made during each round of competition
(except Jr./Pee Wee classes). In order to change the dial-in
time, competitors must do the following: Drivers must decide
all dial-in changes themselves. The driver must fill out
the appropriate dial in change form/slip. It is the responsibility
of the drivers to get dial-in change form to the appropriate
LPR officials. All dial-in changes must be made prior to
the class being called to staging. Do not wait until your
vehicle is in staging to make dial-in changes. LPR will
try to work fairly with racers in later rounds to help dial-in
changes get made.
Race Information
Staging Lanes
Prior to each round of competition, each class will be called
by the P.A. announcer to report to the staging lanes. Vehicles
will fill both staging lanes equally. Competitors may be
asked by LPR officials to change staging lanes so that all
are filled equally. Failure to comply may result in disqualification.
Race position will be determined through a random draw by
the staging lane official of the from first row of vehicles.
The first vehicle of the pair chosen will receive lane choice.
Staging
Once called from the pit area to race each competitor has
5 minutes to get to the pre-stage area of the starting line.
If a competitor fails to report to the pre-stage area, that
competitor will be disqualified from competition. The competitor’s
opponent will be given a single run. When entering the pre-stage
area, the competitor must stop and wait for the signal from
the official starter before approaching the starting line.
Once the official starter has given the signal to approach
the starting line, both vehicles have 30 seconds to be completely
staged. If one vehicle does not completely stage within
30 seconds, the other vehicle will be given a single run.
Elimination Race
Once both vehicles are staged, either the official starter
or a random computer timer will signal the tree to bring
down the lights. For handicapped starts, the timing system
will determine the amount of handicap based on dial-ins
turned in by each driver.
Winner Determination
The winner of the race is determined by the computer timing
system. The winner is the first vehicle that crosses the
finish line without doing any of the following: Foul Start
(Red-Light), Break-Out, Out-of-Bounds
Bye-runs
At the beginning of each round of eliminations (excluding
Quick8) a random vehicle is chosen for the “bye.”
This driver must wait until the end of the round to make
their pass. In the event of an odd number of vehicles in
the round, this driver will be given a bye-run. In subsequent
rounds, this driver may not be chosen again for a bye-run.
If given a bye-run, the driver must make a complete pass
down the drag strip.
Disqualification, Suspension, or Expulsion:
Reasons other than those previously listed that will result
in a disqualification are:
Un-sportsman Like Conduct
This includes, but is not limited to: improper language,
extensive argument with race officials, or other competitors,
etc. NO DELAY BOXES. No electronic delay devices which is
keyed to or triggered by the starting or timing system is
allowed and may be checked at any time. Such a device in
a vehicle working or not is grounds for disqualification
unless approved by officials for special events. Using race
vehicle other than the one registered in your name to complete
the race. You will be disqualified if you refuse a track
officials decision.
Unsafe Action
Action detrimental to racing or any situation or condition
deemed to be unsafe, unfair, or out of order by the LPR
officials. This includes, but is not limited to the consumption
of alcohol or drugs by any participant during competition.
Speeding in any area other than the track. Turning tailspins,
popping wheelies, or doing burnouts in any area. Intoxication
or radical behavior. Hitting track equipment. ( including
cones and fence). Crossing centerline at any point on track
including shut down area. There will be designated areas
to enter return road.
Race Discrepancies
Any discrepancies that arise concerning the winner of an
elimination round will be settled by the computer time-slip.
If you have a discrepancy you first see the official starter
to file a complaint. If it is an obvious LPR mistake (incorrect
dial-in, incorrect handicap, false starting line activation,
etc.) the race will be re-run. The Starting line official
has the final say period, any arguments or problems will
be handled by the starting line official under all circumstances.
Race Cancellation
LPR has the right to cancel a race for any reason including
but not limited to the following: inclement weather conditions,
equipment failure, poor or unsafe track conditions etc.
In the event of a race cancellation, prize money will be
distributed evenly among the competitors in each class that
have not been eliminated from competition.
